Introduction of Ovarian Cancer –
Ovarian cancer can affect one or both ovaries. Ovary female reproductive system has a pair of small organs, which contains eggs once in a month and is released. It is known as ovary.
There are many types of Ovarian Cancer –
• Epithelium Ovarian Cancer – which affects the ovary surface layer; This is the most common type so far
• Germ Cell Tumors – which are produced in cells that make eggs
• Stormal Tumors – which develop within cells that keep ovaries together.
Ovarian cancer is the most common among women who have experienced menopause (usually over 45 years of age), but it can affect women of any age.
Ovarian cancer can spread to other parts of the reproductive system and surrounding areas, including pregnancy (womb), vagina and stomach.
Symptoms of ovarian cancer can be similar to other conditions, making them difficult to recognize, although pain in the lower pelvic and lower abdomen, frequent swelling and difficulty in eating are the initial symptoms.
